Description
This is an image of the Kamokuna ocean lava entry about a month before it stopped. Little did any of us who live on the Big Island know that less than a year later an eruption would begin that was a thousand time larger than this long-time, on-going eruption and ocean entry. The amount of lava that reached the ocean at Kamokuna seemed to be significant, especially since it continued for more than a year. The beauty seeing lava below these cliffs was breathtaking and magical.
