Description
The many terrain and environments in Hawaii are boundless. We have vast expanses of black lava rock, beautifual seashore, active volcano flows, fairytale rainforests, rolling countryside and impossibly high mountain vistas. Some days I flee from the drama of our erupting volcano and drive a long, bad dirt road off the slopes of Mauna Kea where ancient native koa trees navigate in a sea of grasses.

So beautiful and peaceful! I love those yellow flowers. I don't recall ever seeing them on Maui, even in the upcountry regions. They are beautiful. Featured in Hawaiiana. Aloha nui!
Heidi Fickinger replied:
Aloha nui Jane - the flowers are on the super invasive gorse that was brought in for cattle browse - which, of course, they do not eat. It is a scourge on the slopes of Mauan Kea.
