Description
The morning shadow from the summit of Mauna Kea cuts strong lines across the snow-covered Pu'u Poliahu. This cinder cone is named after the Hawaiian Snow Goddess Poliahu. On this day, the pu'u's nameske had clothed it in deep, brilliant white snow, making the shadow of the summit of Mauna Kea very evident as the sun rose in the sky.
