Earlier this year I had the thrill of seeing a small explosion and then the emergence of a huge flow of lava that came spouting directly out of a cliff to shoot in an arc into the sea. It was shortly dubbed the 'fire hose' and lasted for month.

As a fine-art photographer of many years (initially in black and white large format film), my purpose is to capture and share the incredible beauty in our world. The lava flow is a wonder. I was very happy to see the ocean entry several time prior to it stopping. I am sure it will flow there again.
