Rainbow Falls is one of the several iconic waterfalls in the Hilo area. When we have torrential rains, it is a raging torrent. When rains are light for days, it is a thin ribbon of water falling ot the pool below. If the sun hits the falls in a certain way, rainbows form from the spray that rises as it falls to meet the river that is its source.
On this overcast day, the falls was a silky pour of pure beauty to the river.
