Description
When our Kīlauea volcano is erupting here on Hawai'i Island, we have what is called volcano vog; a combination of water vapor and the sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides that are emited by the volcano. Think 'smog', but put out by a volcano instead of cars or factories. While this creates health problems for people, acid rain and other issues, it also gives us spectacular sunrises and sunsets. This deep, brilliant orange sunrise was fueled by vog in the air.

Aloha Heidi...I like your image. In fact, I love it a lot. Very prehistoric...I expect a dinosaur just around the corner...Cheers and have a wonderful and creative day...Cheers Bob fv
Heidi Fickinger replied:
Aloha Bob. I am very happy you like this image. I agree - it does look prehistoric - maybe one day I will develop better illustrative skils I can put a dino in the scene. :)
