Description
This delicate beauty is the Madam Fate flower (Hippobroma longiflora). The plant is originally from the West Indies and was brought to Hawai'i as an ornamental garden plant. The name of this flower is highly indicative of its dangerous nature. The sap of this plant is highly corrosive and toxic. The sap is highly alkaline which causes it to be corrosive and contains very high levels of highly toxic nicotine, which can be absorbed via intact skin.
