In the windswept landscape of Ka Lae (South Point) on Hawai'i Island, a lone windblown tree is awash in a sea of shifting golden grasses. Although bent by the constant wind, the tree is a testament to the tenacity of life.

Just beautiful, I really like this! For me, what catches the eye, is the gunmetal sky juxtaposed with the golden grass. The tree has embraced the windward forces and placing it in the center, eschewing the rule of thirds, works here. Evidence that the “rules”, when one knows what they are doing, can be broken with a pleasing result. Nicely done, Heidi! L/F
