Description
This is an image with green color desaturated of the rare, fragrant Koki'o Ke'oke'o endangered Hawiian hibiscus. Per the US Botanical Garden on Kauai, the Hibiscus waimeae is endemic to Kauai, occurring in two distinct and isolated populations on opposite sides of the island. Though separated by less than 30 miles, these have evolved to have unique flower and leaf characteristics that distinguish them from one another. This is one of only two fragrant hibiscus in the world.
The flowers of this plant tend to grow in natural bouquet at the top of the branches, as is the case in this image.
