Description
The astounding Heliconia Rostrata produces 4-6 foot long, hanging flowering bracts that end in a shape that resembles a lobster claw. An established plant may have 10 or more fabulous bracts, creating a truly exotic look. To me, the bracts look like serpentine representations of dragons. The plants are originally from Central and South America, but are cultivated in many gardens throughout Hawai'i.
