As a fine-art photographer of many years (initially in black and white large format film), my purpose is to capture and share the incredible beauty in our world. I have a passion for travel and photographing the many places I have been fortunate to explore. I am enthralled by both the grand scene of a live volcano or brilliant sunrise and the amazing detail and design of each tiny part of a flower. There is beauty and design in everything around us and the goal of my work is to share that and encourage everyone to look closely and take the time to see what is before us all.

Hi Heidi, As Fine Art should do, stimulate the sense's to what is or isn't or other wise just plan subjective and not objective. What Bird has made a home to raise its young in a place of mystery. Your mind makes it out to be. Peace and thank you, Ed
Heidi Fickinger replied:
What an amazing compliment you have given me Ed. I am honored. Much aloha.

All I can think of is a Black Hole, Heidi.
Heidi Fickinger replied:
It does look like a black hole, doesn't it? See my explanation above. :0

I'm going to guess a rock in a lake or pool at sunset - rotated from horizontal to vertical. Great lines and striking colors.
Heidi Fickinger replied:
Good guess - close - it is the ocean at sunset. The ripples are from a school of fish that darted away when I approached the water. The 'black hole' is a buoy.
Randy Pollard
Interesting concept and this dark spot, very rarely seen by me. L/F
Heidi Fickinger replied:
Thank you kindly Randy. Any guesses what the photo is of? :)
